Every vacationer is on the look out for new, and interesting places to visit, this is particularly so within Europe where individuals and families are generally extremely well traveled. Portugal, over the last decade or so, has become a very popular place with couples and families, especially the southern region, known as the Algarve. The variety of Algarve holidays available make it the perfect destination for all different types of travelers.

Obviously all individuals have different tastes and needs, particularly with a vacation; some want active ones whereas others simply want to relax. Certain individuals have vast amounts of money to spend, and others want to stick to a budget. The Algarve has all something to suit all.
A big allure of this destination is the wide range of Algarve villas available; this is the type of accommodation that many opt for when coming to the region. There are luxury villas Algarve and cheap villas for those on a budget too. If you study an Algarve map there are three main areas that people travel to that offer three very different types of vacation.
The Vilamoura, and Val do Lobo areas are extremely high end, and have some of the areas most luxurious hotels and villas available. This part of southern Portugal is truly for those looking to spoil themselves while away on vacation. The quality of the restaurants and bars around here are of an excellent standard, although they can be rather pricey.
Albufeira is a little further along towards the east along the coast and is more geared towards those on a budget. Here you can find some of the lower priced Algarve hotels and villas. The restaurants and drinking establishments here are much better value too.
Faro, Algarve Portugal
If you are looking to experience a bit more of the “real” Portugal then you will either have to travel a little further west from the city of Faro, and find a remote villa inland in a town such as Loule, or the other smaller surrounding towns, or you could travel to the town of Lagos. This is a beautiful old fishing town around an hour and a half drive from the airport. Both of these destinations will provide you with cheap and traditional Portuguese restaurants and bars. There are also excellent value villas to be rented in these two areas; these will give you a real insight into what Portugal is really like.
